September 06, 2016
Team FishDancer just completed our 2016 SKA 'regular season'. It has been a fun one and has taken us back to our early days of fishing the divisionals and trying to qualify for the National Championship. We began 2016 with a great disappointment, the cancellation of the once highly respected SKA Professional Kingfish Circuit. Since we had focused upon the PRO tour as our primary circuit to fish, Nan and I were faced with the prospect of fishing our local events and working to qualify for the Championships, this year to be held in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Once we digested this bad news and formulated a plan, we looked forward and as such have had a productive SKA season. We picked up the new FishDancer, a Contender 35ST with triple Mercury Verado 350s and were excited to see how we could adapt to this new more powerful ride. This is our fifth SKA boat but our first triple engine variety and with 1,050 horsepower we were anxious to put her and ourselves through our paces.
It was quite a thrill checking out in the front and leading the pack to the fishing spot at more than 70MPH - WOW!!! It took a while but we have settled in with the new Dancer, figuring out how to both dial her up and in during different sea conditions. Our season saw our team end up in 6th place in Division V with 80.69 points and with Nancy coming in as 3rd place Lady Anger and both of us tied for 4th in the Senior Angler category.
Our season included a First Place Lady Angler win for 'THE' FishDancer at Golden Isles Kingfish Classic with a 32.65 pound fish and a 6th place finish for us overall. We had another solid finish at the Greater Jacksonville King Mackerel Tournament, finishing just off the leader board in 13th place with a 34.35 pound fish. After qualifying the old fashioned way for the National Championships, we are now focused upon preparations for this week long event. We will be fishing the Mercury Pregame Bash for Cash on Wednesday as well as the SKA's BIG Dance on Friday and Saturday.....
STAY TUNED

I have tried to stay true to the original layout and purpose and feel that the new site better serves everyone. Let me know what you think about the re-design, you can email me below at:
